IIDA New England Fashion Show: Payette's Violin

This voilin, inspired by modern electric violins, was Payette’s entry for the 2015 IIDA New England Fashion Show, Loxodonta, which consisted of three characters: the elephant, the circus ringmaster and the Jester.Without the need for traditional acoustical properties, the body of an electric violin can be almost any shape. The body of the violin was thoroughly explored through sketching, as seen in the image below.

It was produced through Rhino 3D and fabricated using a laser cutter. The final product resulted in a very clean, sharp, and beautiful design and worked great on the runway.
